The Policy program empowers students to engage with contemporary political and social issues through research, debate, and hands-on policy design. Students study real-world governance challenges, collaborate on advocacy campaigns, and gain experience in drafting policy recommendations. This program emphasizes critical thinking to serve humanity.
Vitality is nonpartisan and invites students from all backgrounds and beliefs to join the policy programs. Even while there will be many disagreements between students, we encourage all students to enter with sincerity, humility, spirit of cooperation, hunger for knowledge and the courage to build, to the highest of standards, a standard for the appreciation of others' work and the criticism of your own.
This program has an especially high amount of travel. Students will go on many different unique experiences, exploring many different sides of the country and beyond first-hand, expanding worldviews. Students will also have the opportunity to shadow many legislative sessions and work directly with certain government officials. It is our hope that Vitality policy alum take these experiences and keep them in mind to become ethical leaders when in positions of power.
Perhaps what is most unique is the great interdisciplinary nature of policy. The policy program incorporates elements from almost every field of study into the research. Therefore, the policy program will also often collaborate with other Vitality programs on many projects.
